  • How do I book a session with you?
    Click on the "Book With Us" tab, and fill in the requested information to help us best determine how we can serve you! Once we receive your inquiry, we'll work with you to find the perfect date and location, and get to you know more so we can cater your session to your exact needs. Once your date, time, and location are decided, we'll create a customized package for you to choose on our booking tab, which will allow you to confirm the details, read through our contract, and submit payment electronically. And that's it- you're booked!
  • Where are you located?
    We are based in the suburbs of Chicago! The majority of our sessions take place in the western, southern, and northern suburbs. We do travel, so if you're looking to book with us and you're not in Chicago, don't fret. We'd love to see what we can do to be there to capture your memories!
  • What is your cancellation policy for photo shoots?
    We understand that things happen, and while we try our best to work WITH your schedule as much as possible, due to the high demand of our schedules between Joyful Grace, our other small business, and our family obligations, our non-refundable retainer is 50% of the total package pricing. Your date and time is officially reserved when you submit payment, and should you choose to cancel your session after booking, you will be refunded 50% of your total package price. **Please note that a reschedule request is counted as a cancellation, as the spot has already been actively reserved on our calendar. Rescheduling will result in receiving a 50% refund for the original date, and then a new, full-priced booking will need to occur to secure the newly requested time.
  • When will we receive our photos?
    For weddings, you will receive previews within 48 hours of the completion of our services. Full wedding galleries will be delivered within 8 weeks. For standard photo shoots, you will receive previews within 48 hours of the completion of our services. Full galleries will be delivered within 2-4 weeks.
  • Do you give out RAW files?
    We do not. RAW files do not accurately represent Joyful Grace's brand or style.
  • Do you use Photoshop on your pictures?
    Great question! While we can certainly touch up a blemish, or remove something distracting in the background, here at Joyful Grace, we feel strongly about embracing your beauty AS YOU ARE. You are created beautifully, wonderfully, and perfectly unique, and in today's filtered, fake, social media-influenced society, it can be easy to forget that. So, what DO we edit? We're happy to edit temporary things, like a blemish, a scratch, a rogue hair, etc., but we want to keep what makes you YOU! Joyful Grace does NOT alter bodies in any way.
  • What happens if the weather is bad during our shoot?
    As much as we wish we could control everything, we've learned that nature just doesn't always cooperate. If we experience inclement weather on the date of your scheduled shoot, Joyful Grace is happy to reschedule at no additional cost for you. (Please keep in mind the time of year you are booking- if you are booking in the winter months, cold weather does not constitute a reschedule, and a cancellation will result in a cancellation fee.) **Please note: Joyful Grace reserves the right to make the final call on the weather, and if the shoot is able to proceed or needs to be rescheduled. Rescheduling due to weather complications is not a cancellation by the client OR by Joyful Grace, and will result in no cancellation fees on either side.
